Anatomy of Keder
Keder is made from a special PVC tube (ROD} Woven polyester, PVC backed fabric is then welded around the rod creating the bead. The bead size is the measurement required when ordering Keder from us. To get the right fit order a bead size which is slightly smaller than the rail you will be running it though.
Extending down from the BEAD is the WELD, and then the FLAP, which is what you would be welding or stitching your fabric too.
Fabric Weights?
- 7/7 - Cloth weight of 440g/m2 - No large loads
- 12/12 - Cloth weight of 560g/m2 - medium to heavy loads
- 2200 - Cloth weight of 730g/m2 – For when heavy loads and high wear resistance is required. The finely woven structure distributes the force over several wires, which reduces the wear per thread. This material is also called "easy glide" because it glides smoothly into any profile.
Flap Type?
- Single – Lighter duty applications such as banners or awnings, however if application will be constantly exposed to the elements a double flap will give extra protection.
- Double – As stated above to provide extra protection if continually exposed to the elements, also heavier duty applications such as industrial curtains and large temporary structures.
- Repair – When making a repair but all you need is to remove the bead of the old Keder
- Ladder Repair – For precise repairs whereby the whole of the old Keder is removed.
What is Keder used for?
Designed specifically with strength and resistance to the elements in mind, Keder is used around the world by makers of tents, marquees, banners, and awnings, as well as in the marine and industrial sectors. With its unique construction Keder is flexible as well as very strong and will slide effortlessly around curves along the plastic or metal extrusion known as the rail.
